Public Service Message - Don't Smuggle Stuff!

    Thursday, August 3, 2006, 01:12 PM [General]

Blog Hawaii used to be snake free, except for a species of water snake that is so rare, even scientists can't findit. But since people started smuggling produce and other items into the state, especially from places like Guam, the brown tree snake has been camping out here. It's been killing our ecology for the past 25 years and it's my job (along with other conservationists) to find these things at the border and get rid of them.

Other things that have been smuggled to Hawaii include nocturnal Canadian women who eat all the cereal and leave the refrigerator door ajar. These dangerous species are known to piss off local conservationists who have to live with them. They do come equipped with special permits for activities like base jumping and skydiving, which we think is pretty cool.

    Here is the story:

You are the double pack of zesta crackers from Cafe Maia and I am the can of spray cheese that doesn't work at high altitudes. Mac is the beachtowel and Krista is the sand that used to be dry, but is hidden under high tide. Andrew is the Tide detergent that gives Kami a rash.

NOW DANCE! DANCE MY LITTLE ZESTA CRACKA!

    DE

I'm officially back home...I took a dive with DE (deep ecology -- those guys in the picture) the other day. Nice stuff. I love DE. Marine ecology is my thing, and these guys are really great about educating divers and protecting the ecosystem around Oahu...there are tons of naturally beautiful places on Oahu (the city being the least of what I'm talking about)  -- If you are into diving and you're somewhat skilled, I recommend giving these guys a try. You'll learn stuff.

As for TJ, she's off working -- those TV people have incredably strange schedules. She came home at some ungodly hour last night, ate three powerbars and ran back out the door. And to think, we used to be personal trainers together...I don't recommend the TJ diet. We're going out drinking later tonight...okay, tequila and poptarts for me today...I guess I'm a crappy personal trainer too.
